URGENT ACTION NEEDED: #ABQ Tries to Short-Circuit Justice, Deny Voters Chance to Ban Late-Term Abortion!

Activist City Councilor in Albuquerque, Trudy Jones, calls the 20 Week Abortion Ban up for vote in November "unconstitutional" -- and she has introduced a resolution to kill it before it reaches the ballot!

R-15-230 short circuits our time-honored democratic process.  And it threatens the landslide efforts of the pro-life people of Albuquerque, in coalition with Survivors, Operation Rescue, and the nation's life-affirming leaders, to protect the women and children of New Mexico from the heinous late-term abortion procedures already responsible for innumerable children's deaths, for many mother's as well.

Council President, Lewis, stated last night: "Our citizens have done the work to place the ordinance on the ballot. The City Council has already acted and set the special election date for November 19th. Now it is time to leave the question in the hands of Albuquerque’s voters. Regardless of where nine city councilors stand on the issue, we must follow our own city laws and allow this question to go before the voters of the City of Albuquerque who have earned that right."

Unfortunately, this will not keep Trudy Jones from introducing the Resolution WEDNESDAY NIGHT, October 9.

If you are a resident of Albuquerque, we urgently call on you: attend the council meeting.

Arrive no later than 5:00 p.m. and register to speak out in opposition to R-15-230. The meeting will be held at:

Ask that they oppose  this resolution, which not only puts our nation's women and children at risk -- countless out-of-state women come to Albuquerque for unsafe late-term abortions which also torture their preborn children -- but flattens our democratic process and freedom as US citizens.

Let #ABQ hear it loud and clear: Our nation opposes child-killing! "This is a ploy to deny the citizens...a fair vote one the Ordinance," says Operation Rescue.  Just as you helped us bring the injustice to light during the Public Awareness Campaign, keep the light on bright and highlight the importance of this going to a full and fair ballot in Novemeber!
